CALL AND PROGRAM
53rd EDITION OF THE JOSÉ MARTÍ EUROPEAN SOLIDARITY WITH CUBA BRIGADE

The Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and its Travel Agency Amistur
Cuba S.A. summon friends of Cuba in Europe to participate in the 53rd edition of the “José
Martí” European Volunteer Work and Solidarity with Cuba Brigade.

The program of activities is devoted to commemorate the centennial of the birth of Fidel
Castro Ruz, Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution and a worldwide symbol of antiimperialist resistance and international solidarity.

Through meetings, tours, and volunteer working days, the brigade members will be able to get closer to his legacy and learn about the relevance of his thought in the Cuban social project.

As it is traditional, the program also includes visits to sites of historical, economic, cultural, and social interest, meetings with representatives of political and mass organizations, as well as other activities and exchanges that will allow its members to learn first-hand about the achievements and current challenges of the Cuban revolutionary project and the impact of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S.A government for more than 6 decades, which has been significantly tightened under the current Trump administration.

The program of activities will take place from August 2nd to 16th, 2026, in the provinces
of Artemisa, Havana, Villa Clara, and Cienfuegos; a 14-night stay, 11 of them at the Julio
Antonio Mella International Camp (CIJAM), located in the municipality of Caimito, 45 km
away from Havana, 1 night in Santa Clara, and 2 nights in Cienfuegos. The stay will cost
790.00 Euros. This includes shared room accommodation, full board, transfer in — out
from Havana’s José Martí Airport to CIJAM whenever arrival coincides with the brigade’s
start and end dates, and transportation to all activities scheduled in the program.

Payment is made via bank transfer, online payment gateway, or by payment card, Visa
or Mastercard, whenever they are not issued by U.S.A banks. It is an essential condition
to travel with medical insurance that provides coverage in Cuba. Brigade members who
arrive to Cuba 1 or 2 days before August 2nd, 2026, and wish to stay at CIJAM, must pay
an additional supplement of 20.00 Euros per night, for accommodation and meals.

Registrations will be open to interested parties until July 5th, 2026. To confirm your
participation, please send the following information to the emails:
